Learn about our activities inside and outside the University

Every year AEBUT plans some events to integrate more and more the Brazilian community of students among themselves. At the same time, the association also organizes events within the University as a way to spread and pass on our culture to other students and visitors regardless of their nationalities. Learn more about our events on this page.

2023 Events

During the year 2023, Japan's COVID-19 situation became more relaxed, making room for more events to be organized. As our tradition, we already had our picnic during the spring. This time, many foreign friends joined this warm welcome event for the new students of the University of Tsukuba.

Future Events

Also for the year 2023, we have some special events that are currently being planned:

  • Annual BBQ (end of July)

  • Tsukukoi つくこい + Imagine the 海外 (end of September)

  • International Day, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the University of Tsukuba (October 1)

  • 2nd Reception Picnic 2023 (October)

  • Sohosai - Festival of clubs and school groups (November)

Other events

Although AEBUT has existed since 2021, some activities were already exercised by the Brazilian student community at the University of Tsukuba. We already had the Brazil Week in Tsukuba (2017), in which many Brazilian culture, music, food, and more, were shared with the whole city. In addition, the tradition of the barbecue was signed by Prof. Marcos Neves (Food Science), and this tradition was again present after COVID-19, only in 2022. With the beginning of AEBUT, some other opportunities have emerged, since we now officially have contact with other groups at the university, which together with other associations, have sought to open doors to a more lively life for students.
